Barbados’ fastest woman Tristan Evelyn wants nothing less than her first senior international medal in the women’s 100 metres at the swiftly approaching Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games in El Salvador, June 23 to July 8.

The Houston-based sprinter has been preparing for her debut appearance at the regional meet with a special focus on race execution and sharpness.

The semi-final on July 3 will be her first race in over five weeks, having last competed at the Meeting National de la Martinique at the Stade L. Achille where she recorded a season’s best of 11.40 seconds.

Of concern, though, may be her race fitness, with only two outdoor meets under her belt for the season, contrasted with her splendid early season form after a series of indoor 60-metre meets, which produced a personal best and national record of 7.14 seconds. (RW)
