Ten more COVID deaths

Ten more people succumbed to COVID-19 between June 10 and 23 as the number of deaths from the viral illness passed the 600-mark.

In the latest figures released by the Ministry of Health and Wellness on Monday, the number of deaths stood at 606. In the previous two-week period, there were three deaths.

There were 419 new cases, down from 434, but testing, which had fallen for several months, is on the increase, with 1 301 people being tested, up from 1 157.

Seven people were hospitalised with the illness.

Overall, Barbados has recorded 108 899 COVID cases, comprising 49 074 men and 59 825 women. (SAT)
