The Nation Publishing Co. Limited has taken the decision that going forward in our reporting we will not disclose the methods used by individuals who take their own lives.

The below article was amended to reflect such.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the unnatural death of Ashley Monique Mayers, 23 years, of Lodge Crescent, Lodge Hill, St Michael.

After receiving the report about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, lawmen arrived at a shop located at “Alexander Pile”, Pelican Village, St Michael where they confirmed the death.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

Mayers was initially discovered by a close family member who went to the location to visit her as she had not been able to reach her for some time. That family member reported the matter to the police. She was formally identified by family members.

Investigations are ongoing. (PR/SAT)
