Five months after he was jailed for theft and money laundering and on the eve of his trial for a related offence, the bank teller who flattened a pensioner’s account, pleaded guilty to putting a hit out on her when he reappeared in the No. 4 Supreme Court on Thursday.
Kevin DaCosta Cadogan, of Arthur’s Seat, St Thomas, is already serving two years, 277 days, after deductions, for two counts of theft and the count of money laundering.
Cadogan and businessman Kirk St Clair White, of Jackson Main Road, St Michael, had pleaded guilty, at an earlier Session of the Continuous Sittings, to stealing $290 000 being the proceeds of a Bank of Nova Scotia draft, dated August 12, 2011, payable to RBTT Bank for $290 000 belonging to the Bank of Nova Scotia, on August 12, 2011.
They had also each pleaded guilty to stealing $22 960 belonging to the Bank of Nova Scotia between August 1, 2011 and October 31, 2011, and engaging in money laundering in that they each directly engaged in transactions totalling $312 960 being the proceeds of crime, between August 1 and October 31, 2011.
