Shooting at Glebe Land

Police investigations are continuing into an incident where a man was shot by police at Glebe, St George.

Police spokesman inspector Rodney Inniss said they received a report around 4:10 p.m. that a man had injured another with a cutlass.

Officers from Boarded Hall arrived at the scene, but were told the assailant had already left and was carrying the weapon. They were given a description of the man.

This man was later seen and was confronted by police, advancing towards them. He was shot in the area of the left knee. A medical doctor located nearby treated him at the scene and he was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

The weapon was seized. (PR/SAT)
