The wait is over and defending calypso monarch Quon finally knows who he will be facing on August 4 at the Courtesy Garage Pic O De Crop Competition.

A tie for 17th place means there will be no reserve, as announced by NCF corporate communications specialist Toni Yarde earlier today, after the judging of De Big Show at Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre.

Instead, there will be 19 finalists.

All Stars Calypso Tent sent forward six, there were five each from House of Soca and De Big Show, while the final two came from Shining Stars.

There are some familiar names in the bunch, while others like Nathalee and Bumba are making a return after a long break.

But among those getting the nod for the first time were Niqa of All Stars, the House of Soca trio of Keerah, Coopa Dan and Raheem, as well as Ross from Shining Stars.

Producer Aja told the artistes contracts are to be signed on Wednesday evening at the NCF, rehearsals start on Thursday morning and the draw will be held that same evening at the sponsors, Courtesy Garage. (SAT)

The finalists as tabulated by auditors Pricewaterhouse Coopers.
