Foreday Morning Jam will see 10 000 revellers on The City streets tomorrow morning when the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) hosts this year’s Berger Colour Shop & Kooyman Foreday Morning Jam.

It is expected to get under way around 1 a.m. following the conclusion of the Courtesy Garage Pic-O-De-Crop Finals at the National Botanical Gardens.

That’s when 32 bands with eager party-goers move off from three starting points headed to the Mighty Grynner Highway on Spring Garden. These points are: Queen’s Park, the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII) and the Barbados Investment & Development Corporation (BIDC) on Harbour Road.

The party officially kicks off with the first 14 bands leaving from Queen’s Park and heading to Constitution Road, on to St Michael’s Row, Bridge Street and then Wharf Road.

Event producer Kelly-Ann Gaskin said all systems were a go.

“We are happy to see the number of Foreday Morning bands double from those that were a part of the event last year. We have worked hand-in-hand with the Barbados Police Service, the Barbados Defence Force and Disaster Emergency Management (DEM) and other agencies to ensure the jump is secure and safe. We must also extend special thanks to Berger Colour Shop and Kooyman for coming onboard and throwing their support behind the event,” she said.

The band Hijack is scheduled to lead the way followed by Linyx Barbados, 37 Family, BLISS The Band, Cloud Revellers J’ouvert Band, Kontact Foreday, RXG Foreday Band, KAOS Foreday Morning Band, Bleu Mist Entertainment, Romp International, Ambala, W2K/Wednesday 2000, Chocolate Army Barbados and then Adinkra The Band.

From the BTII car park on Bay Street, Road Warriors, Ensayne Entertainment, Colorz Entertainment, Envy Mas, Azul Foreday, Passion Vybz, llumin8 Foreday Band, Tropical Splash, Fashion of Splendor, SALT, Passion The Foreday Morning Experience, Reign and Evencs will traverse Parfitt Alley onto Bay Street, then onto Fairchild Street, before meeting at Bridge Street where the route connects at Wharf Road.

Revellers will then head west to Hincks Street in the direction of the Princess Alice Highway and connect with the final starting point at the BIDC on Harbour Road where Lavish, Garden Stars Blue Devils, Fun and Fantasy, Pinoc246 and Project X will advance.

The route continues along Prescod Boulevard, to President Kennedy Drive and culminates at the Mighty Grynner Highway. (PR)
