The powerful Ensure Max Protein Weymouth Wales men’s team clinched the 2023 Barbados Football Association Premier League crown after securing a 2-1 victory over Empire on Sunday at the Wildey AstroTurf.

A goal each from Romario Harewood (38th) and captain Hadan Holligan (50th) was good enough for newly crowned football kings Wales to celebrate another top-flight title after moving to an unsurpassable 49 points with three games left for the season.

Wales’ closest challengers Ellerton have also played 19 games and can only get a maximum 48 points if they win all three of their remaining matches.

Holligan said he was pleased with the overall effort from the Carrington Village-based side throughout the season. (ML)
