The 16-year-old boy who grounded a JetBlue flight with his bomb threat has completed his 80 hours of community service.
As a result, he was reprimanded and discharged and warned not to behave like that again when he reappeared in the District “B” Boarded Hall Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Shiloh Cecil Bellott, of West 212 Street, New York, New York, had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge that while on board JetBlue Flight B662 on July 5, he did behave in a manner which interfered with the discharge of functions and duties of a crew member by uttering the words: “Bomb the plane.”
He was represented by attorney Simon Clarke in association with Senior Counsel Michael Lashley and attorney Ken Mason.
He had been released on bail with an order to report to District “B” Boarded Hall Police Station every Monday and Wednesday by 5 p.m. and observe a 6 p.m.to 6 a.m. curfew.
A psychiatric report, as well as a probation report, had been ordered.
He later changed his plea and Magistrate Douglas Frederick ordered him to complete the community service.
Yesterday, the magistrate reprimanded and discharged him and told he was free to go. (HLE)
