St Elmo Wilbert Lewis, who confessed earlier this year to indecently assaulting three young boys, says he “did not choose this kind of life, but this kind of life chose me”.

He was being sentenced to 60 months in prison on each count.

Lewis, 58, of Clevedale, Black Rock, St Michael, had pleaded guilty in the No. 4A Supreme Court to touching the penis of a seven-year-old boy on June 5, 2018, and that of another boy, 12, on June 21, 2019, along with a 14-year-old on July 1, 2019, and again the following day.

In handing down the sentence, Justice Wanda Blair told the paedophile: “The court considers you to be a danger to society. You have three previous convictions for offences of a similar nature and despite the fact that help was recommended, you did not choose to avail yourself of it. This court is of the view that you need counselling. . .  (SD)
