Fisherfolk backs sea egg ban

Regulating the capture of some seafood is in the best interest of the local fishing industry.

Some fishermen shared that opinion as they came out in support of the Government’s prolonged ban on sea egg harvesting.

Boat owner and fisherman Adam Marshall was among the fisherfolk who said that imposing that prohibition was important.

“Everything should have a season. That is the only way to make it sustainable. Fishing needs limits and regulations because there could come a point when the only fish you can get in Barbados is imported fish,” Marshall said.
