Champion head coach Ryan Hinds has given a thumbs-up to this year’s edition of the Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).

Two weeks ago, Hinds took Barbados Royals Women to their first title in a nail-biting eight-run victory over Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.

A former Barbados captain, Hinds praised his team’s performance, led by West Indies captain Hayley Matthews.

“When you win you can hide a lot of faults, but I thought that this year you can safely say that the quality of cricket that we played was outstanding. We felt once we made contributions right throughout the team, we would’ve come out victorious. When you look at the games between Guyana and Barbados, all of them went to the wire,” said the 42 year-old coach and national selector.

“The final was a really good spectacle, a high-scoring game, and you know people can say that this year’s Women’s CPL was of a very good quality.” (RW)
