Barbados Head Coach Orlando Da Costa has announced six changes to his CONCACAF Nations League 23-man squad that will face Dominican Republic at the Wildey Turf on October 13.

In the Barbados squad for the upcoming international break are UWI Blackbirds goalkeeper Nashton Browne, Nico Harper from Empire, Ellerton’s Rosean Brathwaite and Glasic United’s Ryan Trotman having all been recalled. There are also maiden call ups for UWI Blackbirds’ winger Jaron Oughterson and Ellerton’s Jaheim Headley.

Losing their place in the squad are goalkeeper Jerome Blackman; defenders Zachary Ellis-Hayden and Terrence Smith; midfielder Curtis Jemmet-Hutson; and forwards Niall Reid-Stephen and Zeco Edmee.

Speaking on the squad’s announcement, Costa said: “To win points from the Dominican Republic, we must have a strong warrior spirit from the beginning of the game until the end. We will have a team that will try not to defend but try to win. It is our DNA. The secret is to respect the Dominican Republic and show three things through the game: character, intelligence and patience.”

Barbados currently sit bottom of the CONCACAF Nations League, League B Group B with no points from two games, having lost 3-2 against Montserrat at home before suffering a humiliating 5-1 defeat to Nicaragua at the Nicaragua National Football Stadium. Their upcoming opponents Dominican Republic sit second in the table, having lost 2-0 Nicaragua away from home and then beating Montserrat 3-0 at the Estadio Felix Sanchez.
