Shooters Michael Maskell and Michelle Elliot are hoping to book their places in the skeet shooting final today at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

After facing keen opposition on the opening day of competition yesterday morning, both Maskell and Elliot will need to perform well in the next two rounds (fourth and fifth) in order to have a shot at reaching the final.

Maskell, a five-time representative for Barbados at the Olympic Games, looked good during the preliminary round and said he fancies his chances going forward.

“I would like to think that I have a chance. I shot 72 today [yesterday] but missed three targets. It would have been nice to have back at least two of them but that is down range.” (ML)
