Barbados Olympic Association (BOA) Vice-president Cameron Burke has been elected to the board of Centro Caribe Sports, formerly known as the Central American and Caribbean Sports Organisation (CACSO), as a director for a four- year term.

Burke, a long-standing BOA member since 1996, worked through the ranks as assistant secretary-general in 2004 and has served as vice-president since 2020.

He obtained a seat on the Centro Caribe Sports board during a special meeting held at the 19th Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile.

One of four people from the Caribbean now sitting on the Centro Caribe Sports board, Burke said that the time has come for administrators like himself to position the Caribbean to become more active in major multi-sport games like Pan Am Games and Central American and Caribbean Games.  (ML)
