Knockout queens UWI Blackbirds moved one game away from a perfect first round and closer to double crown status when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division One Volleyball Competition continued Monday night at Oldbury, St Philip.

The Blackbirds dismissed Chargers in straight sets 25-16, 25-19, 25-13 to go a perfect 7-0 record and 30 points with just the first round game against Hill Road slated for tomorrow night at Oldbury remaining for UWI.

The Blackbirds crushed Chargers in a similar fashion in the knockout finals with Chargers ending the first round 4/4 with 18 points.

On Monday night, even Chargers’ fans expected another hammering as their team was missing an injured setter Dayna Babb and former Barbados captain Thonya Joseph who was unavailable. (KB)
