Three fire tenders are in the scene at 3rd Avenue Parris Gap, Westbury Road, St Michael, dealing with a large blaze.

At the moment, three homes have been razed to the ground, another is being extinguished, and surrounding houses are being doused out of an abundance of caution.

A tender from the Bridgetown Port’s new fire station, and two other trucks from the headquarters of the Barbados Fire Service, are on the scene.

Acting fire chief Henderson Patrick and senior fire service officers Wayne Vaughan and Marlon Small are overseeing the operation. (BA)
