Onlookers were treated to a nail-biting semi-final finish as Queen’s College knocked out defending champions The Lodge School in the Barbados Cricket Association Schools’ Under-19 Championship.

Batting first at Lears, QC posted 118 for eight in their 31 overs to later win by three runs, halting Lodge at 115 in 31 overs.

All-rounder Xaundre Baptiste top-scored in the first innings with 28, while QC skipper Preston Clarke added 25 in the reduced affair as nine overs were lost due to rain.

In the chase, off-spinning all-rounder Clarke once again showed his prowess to collect two for 15 in seven overs in an unconvincing Lodge chase which featured four run outs.

In the other semi-final at Briar Hall, rain washed out play between Christ Church Foundation and Lasco Icool St Michael School. (RW)
