Work to upgrade the road surface of Highway 7 will begin on Monday.
The Ministry of Transport, Works and Water Resources (MTWW) says this will comprise milling, which is the removal of existing asphalt, and paving. It will be done in sections starting with Phase One from Skeetes Road to the vicinity of Rockley Terrace.
Work is expected to last for approximately one week, pending weather or any unforeseen challenges.
The Ministry’s contractor, C. O. Williams Construction Ltd, will work between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. During this time, vehicular access will be restricted to public transportation, as well as local and emergency vehicles.
Motorists are advised to divert at either Rendezvous Hill or Dayrells Road and proceed along Golf Club Road. If your home, business, or destination can be accessed via this route, you are urged to use it to avoid the work site.
Nearby residences and businesses should expect some noise and dust. The team will implement dust control measures.
All of Highway 7 will be opened during the day; however, motorists may experience delays as the road surface will be removed between Skeetes Road and Rockley Terrace. MTWW thanks road users for their patience and apologises for any inconvenience caused. (PR)
