Opening batsman Daniel Duncan and off-spinner Akobi Crichlow-Byer led Christ Church Foundation School into the final of Barbados Cricket Association Schools’ Under-19 Championship with a commanding 162-run victory over Lasco iCool St Michael School yesterday at Briar Hall.

Duncan, a right-hander, fell two runs short of a century, scoring 98 runs off 99 balls in a massive total of 250 for six in 40 overs, after Foundation were inserted.

In a tame reply, SMS managed only 88 in 23.4 overs, stifled by a four-wicket haul from Crichlow-Byer, who bowled 6.4 overs and conceded only 18 runs.

Duncan and diminutive second-former Shai Thorne featured in a 100-run second-wicket stand to lay the groundwork, after a 68-run opening partnership between Duncan and wicket-keeper batsman Makai Clarke.
