Two babies – a boy and a girl – have so far been born at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Independence Day.

The first to arrive was the boy, born to Tyiesha Springer and her partner. He arrived at 6:18 a.m. and is her second son. She has not decided on a name as yet.

Melody Sophia Newton-Headley came later in the day, born to Ayra Newton.

The excited first time mother told Nation Online it was her father’s birthday and the little one was “his wonderful gift from me”.

The Young Children Priority Committee of Kiwanis Club Barbados Central teamed up with Massy Distribution to present Springer with a basket of baby necessities. (SAT)
