VIDEO: Both sides claiming Essequibo

The writing on the tail of a Venezuelan military plane on the tarmac at Argyle International Airport – Essequibo es nuestro – was the subject of discussion during and after a media conference held by Guyana’s president Dr Irfaan Ali.

He is locked in bilateral talks with Venezuelan counterpart Nicolas Maduro on the ownership of Essequibo, which is up for consideration before the International Court of Justice.
