Christmas cheer came to the homeless yesterday morning at Jubilee Gardens when they were treated to breakfast and light music, courtesy of the Sharon Bellamy Feeding Programme and the Seventh-Day Adventist Pathfinders.

Sharon Bellamy-Thompson, who along with the Fishers of Men Charity, feeds up to 100 people each morning at Jubilee Gardens, opted to lend a hand and offer gifts to some of the vulnerable in society.

“This is something that I normally do every day but this morning the Seventh-Day Adventist Pathfinders decided that they were going to come and lend a hand giving gifts for the holiday season and these gifts contain bags of goodies, sanitary napkins and personal stuff for the homeless,” said Bellamy-Thompson.

With his trumpet in hand, Meshach Blackman, a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Pathfinders, serenaded those gathered with jazzy Christmas renditions.

Member of the Adventist Church Children Ministries Department, Delvina Waithe, said: “Part of what we do with our children is give them opportunities to minister to different sectors of vulnerable communities. This is our first time with the homeless and it’s such a pleasure to be here,” Waithe said.

“This is what we do. We have done other groups and other areas but today it is really good to join with Sharon to assist,” she said
