On Wednesday, Clint Antonia DaCosta Rock escaped with a conviction, reprimand and discharge for shoplifting after telling the court he felt weak from hunger.

However, instead of going to the homeless shelter on Spry Street, The City, for food, as he was advised to do, he found himself in Black Rock and 24 hours later he was back before the same court on another charge.

Rock, 60, of no fixed place of abode, initially pleaded guilty, in the District “A” Magistrates’ Court, to stealing a bottle of multivitamins from Channell Supermarket on December 18.

Prosecutor Sergeant Randolph Boyce had told the court the supervisor watched as Rock placed the bottle of multivitamins in his right, rear pants pocket. The supervisor then informed the security officer, who held Rock as he tried to leave the supermarket.
