A flash flood watch is in effect for central and northern districts of Barbados.

A flash flood watch is issued when heavy or excessive rainfall in a short period of time (generally less than six hours) could result in flash flooding within the watch area, but it does not mean that flooding will occur.

Light wind speeds and adequate daytime heating has caused localised shower activity. Accumulations of 10 to 25mm in heavy to intense showers are forecast across the watch area.

This alert is valid until 6 p.m., but may be terminated sooner, if conditions warrant. (PR/SAT)
