A man who “deceptively removed” a ten-year-old girl off a route taxi as she was on her way home from lessons was given a starting sentence of eight years by the No. 5A Supreme Court yesterday.

However, Oneil Recardo Riley will serve just over five years, after deductions, for the kidnapping, and a year, which will run concurrently, for endangering her life.

The 37-year-old, of Kensington New Road, St Michael, and 1st Avenue, Goddings Road, Station Hill, St Michael, was back before Justice Christopher Birch.

He had been found guilty of unlawfully removing the then ten-year-old from Whitehall Main Road, St Michael, on February 2, 2019, without her consent or the consent of some person legally authorised to consent on her behalf.
