The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) will be resuming work on the Hampton Pumping Station in St Philip on Tuesday, January 16.
Crews will tackle the removal and replacement of the old support beams on the other side of the structure which support the remaining two pumps in the well. The station will remain online until work starts to remove and replace the beams, but while the repairs are under way, pumping will be intermittent and capacity will be reduced.
Residents in the connected catchment area are reminded that while the work is being conducted, their pipe-borne supply will also be intermittent. The Authority continues to urge customers to store an adequate amount of water for their households to help during this period. Five gallons per person per day is recommended.
The Water Tanker team will continue to assist residents in the districts impacted in the interim.
These districts may include: Bathsheba, Cattlewash and surrounding areas in St Joseph.
