‘The Surfer’ passes

Paul “The Surfer” Bourne, a household name in motorsport, with two triumphs in Sol Rally Barbados,

and a former president of the Barbados Surfing Association, has passed away.

Bourne, 59, who had been ailing for some time, passed on just before 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon.

A grandson of businessman, the late M.E.R.Bourne, “The Surfer” conquered Rally Barbados in 2003 and 2007.

Bourne grew up in Rockley, Christ Church and learned to surf at Accra Beach.
