A small-craft advisory has been issued for the marine area, effective immediately and extending until 6 am on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024, or until conditions improve. This advisory may end sooner if conditions warrant.
Sustained winds of 20 to 25 knots and/or sea swells of 2.5 to 3.0 meters (8 to 10 feet) are expected to impact or are forecasted to affect the marine area within the next 36 hours.
Recent data collected by the BMS sea-surface drone has revealed significant wave heights of 2.8 meters along the southern coast of the island. Model projections indicate a further increase in swells through tomorrow. As a result, a small-craft advisory has been issued, primarily for the southern and eastern coastlines.
