The Barbados Water Authority (BWA) advises that work to replace the
mains in Bridgefield, St. Thomas is still in ongoing. This phase of the works
is scheduled to restart on Thursday, April 18th, between 9:00 am and 4:00
pm and to continue over the next two weeks Monday to Friday only.
During this period, mains will be replaced in the vicinity of the Lester Vaughn
School and work may impact residents of Platinum Avenue, Primrose
Avenue, Sunflower Drive, the Gabriel Edgehill Funeral Home and the
surrounding areas.
Motorists traversing the area should expect traffic delays due to ongoing work
and are advised to consider taking an alternative route. The BWA also asks all
persons using these roads to obey the flag men and safety signs around the
job site.
It is possible that residents may be affected by the noise and dust
produced during trenching. No water supply disruption is expected for the
residents in the area until the final distribution system connections are
completed.
The Barbados Water Authority apologises for the inconvenience and
thanks residents for their understanding and cooperation as work
continues to upgrade the mains in the area.
