Fatal hit-and-run at Long Bay

Police are probing a fatal hit and run that occurred along Long Bay main road, St Philip in the early hours of Saturday.

Lawmen said they were informed via a telephone call to Operations Control Room at about 1:50 a.m of the discovery of a deceased male body along the main road, about 40 meters away from the Salvation Army Church.

The discovery was confirmed by police personnel from the District C police station who attended the scene.

The deceased was pronounced dead by a medical doctor who visited the scene.

Police disclosed that it appears as though the male was struck by a motor vehicle and that the vehicle involved which is unknown did not stop at the scene.

Police are appealing to the public for information pertaining to the vehicle and the driver involved.

  1. This is so sad, I am sure the driver knew that he or she hit something or someone and took off. Leaving the person to died on the road , why not called for help and stayed , when find he or she shoulded be charge with vehicular manslaughter.
