Schoolteacher Terry Carrington captured the men’s run and Philippa Sylvester, the female equivalent, at the 20th edition of the Senior National Games, which was launched in a big way yesterday with more than 150 seniors taking to the Mighty Grynner Highway to compete in a five-kilometre walk and run and a 50-kilometre cycling race.

Rodney Blackman won the walk, with his arch-rival Dudley Harewood placing second.

The top female walker was Charmaine Belgrave, who was followed home by the equally fit-looking Sophia Waithe. (KB)
