Skeete too hot

Spills, thrills, sideways manoeuvres, donuts, excited crowds and some sketchy weather. This was the recipe that blended together nicely and delivered what was an exciting day’s rallying at the Palmers to Colleton stage for the First Citizens king Of The Hill 2024.

But when the dust settled and the skies cleared, Dane Skeete, in his Subaru S12WRC, had done just enough to earn the title, ahead of Stuart Maloney and Mark Maloney.

Rally drivers and spectators alike were greeted by overcast skies as they gathered from all walks of life with one purpose – to enjoy some motorsport.

The King Of The Hill format runs a bit “old school”, as the Barbados Rally Club opted to start with the lower-class cars first and then build up to the much more powerful groups. And with the tension at fever pitch, the speed event started. (SW)
