Zane Maloney slid down the standing to fourth place after his Dallara F2 2024 race car developed issues causing him not to finish on Sunday morning, for round seven of the FIA Formula 2 2024 championship at the Red Bull Ring racetrack in Spielberg, Styria, Austria.

An early problem in the sprint race on Saturday halted the quick progress he was making, as he moved up the grid, climbing quickly up to 16th.

However, he was stuck, battling with his fellow teammate Ritomo Miyata, Hitech Pulse-eight driver Amaury Cordeel, Van Amersfoort Racing driver Rafael Villagomez and Roman Stanek and Richard Verschoor of Trident racing.

As the entire grid lined up for the feature race on Sunday morning, Maloney’s goal was to turn the weekend around and possibly get a top ten finish or perhaps even more than that.
