Jack Kirby to carry Barbados flag at 2024 Paris Olympics

Swimmer Jack Kirby will be proudly carrying the Barbados flag during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics on July 26.

This was announced during the Barbados Olympic Association’s (BOA) official ceremony at the Olympic Centre on Wednesday morning to announce the Olympic team.

Kirby, who is currently in the Cayman Islands and is a Barbados and CARIFTA record holder, will be competing in the 100-metre freestyle while Double Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sada Williams will be seeking her first Olympic podium place in the 400-metre sprint.

National record holder in the 100-metre sprint Tristan Evelyn will at the very least be seeking to go below her personal best of 11.14 seconds and Americas Cup silver medal winning triathlete Matthew Wright will also be eyeing a podium place as he competes amongst the top 55 men in the world.
