Ex-CDB President Sir Neville Nicholls passes on

Former president of the Caribbean Development Bank, Sir Neville Nicholls has died. 

Sir Neville’s passing on Thursday was announced a short while ago in a news release by his son Philip Nicholls.He was 90. 

Sir Neville served as legal adviser when he joined the bank in 1971, shortly after its inception and was appointed vice- president and general counsel in 1975.

He was elected third president of the CDB, in 1988, taking over from the late William Demas. 

In 2004, he was appointed chairman of the Barbados Fair Trading Commission. 

Sir Neville also served as  chair of the Cave Hill Campus Council of The University of the West Indies for more than ten years.
