So far for the year, there have been 27 murders, and earlier this month, Bartlett’s Tenantry, Sergeant’s Village, was the scene of one of them.

Tyrelle Prescod, 33, died after he was shot several times. His death still impacts some residents who said they were extra cautious as they travelled in their district.

One resident who gave her name only as Margaret expressed concern that the violence could continue.

“We got good neighbours, but you get people, some young people that come; that is where you get the problems.

“It makes you uncomfortable because you have to keep looking over your shoulders because when you think this thing done, it ain’t done yet, so you have to be real careful,” she said. (TG)
