BCC has a new Deputy Principal

The Barbados Community College has a new Deputy Principal. 

He is Samuel Bowen, an educator with a career spanning more than 20 years and a former Senior Tutor in the Division of Technology at the College. 

Bowen brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to creating a supportive and enriching learning environment to the post, in which he has acted since April 2023. 

During that time, he focused on Academic Staff Professional Development, coordinated facility rentals, monitored and evaluated the College’s academic programmes and student performance and assessed the work plans and timetables of the various Divisions/Departments. He is dedicated to maintaining high education standards, promoting innovative teaching practices, and ensuring that all students achieve their full potential. 

Bowen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (Honours) and a Diploma in Education. He also has a Master’s in Architecture from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign, completed with a Fulbright Scholarship.  

The new Deputy Principal fosters the collaborative approach and values steadfast commitment to excellence while daily striving to embody the vision of the College, “to be a world-class centre of excellence in education and training” in service to our community. (PR)
