Road closure notice for Grand Kadooment

The eagerly anticipated Grand Kadooment, the final event of the Crop Over Festival, will take place on Monday, August 5. Festivities will run from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., featuring vibrant parades along a designated route in Saint Michael.

The parade will start at Helipad Car Park and proceed along Hincks Street, Princess Alice Highway, Prescod Boulevard, Elsie Payne Roundabout, President Kennedy Drive, Eagle Hall, Black Rock Main Road, Frank Worrell Roundabout, and The Mighty Grynner Highway.

To ensure smooth execution of the event, an emergency route has been established, beginning at The Mighty Grynner Highway and proceeding through Exmouth Gap, Westbury Road, Passage Road, Country Road, Roebuck Street, Halls Road, and Martindale’s Road.

To facilitate the event, the following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for vehicles involved in the Kadooment Day Parade and those used by the Festival Committee:

  • Wharf Road
  • Hincks Street
  • Princess Alice Highway
  • Redman Drive
  • Prescod Boulevard
  • Fontabelle Road
  • Westbury Road
  • President Kennedy Drive
  • Eagle Hall Road
  • Black Rock Road
  • Holborn Circle
  • The Mighty Grynner Highway

Additionally, from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., The Mighty Grynner Highway, from its junction with Holborn Circle to its junction with Frank Worrell Roundabout and Black Rock Road, will be closed. During these hours, no vehicles will be permitted to drive, park, or remain stationary on the parade route.

These restrictions do not apply to vehicles operated by The Barbados Police Service (TBPS), The Barbados Defence Force (BDF), The Barbados Fire Service (BFS), or other emergency vehicles.

The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) apologizes for the anticipated traffic disruptions and thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation.
