The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) is closely monitoring a developing weather system in the Central Tropical Atlantic, currently located approximately 932 miles (1550 km) east of the Lesser Antilles as of 11:00 a.m. today.
At this time, no watches or warnings have been issued for Barbados in relation to this system.
The weather feature is projected to pass north of Barbados between Monday and Tuesday, August 13th. As a result, residents may notice a reduction in wind speeds on Monday, leading to warmer temperatures across the island. Additionally, localized activity is expected, including occasional moderate showers that could result in rainfall accumulations of up to 2 inches. The potential for flooding in some areas cannot be ruled out.
Environmental conditions are anticipated to be marginally favourable for slow development, and there is a possibility that the system could intensify into a tropical depression in the coming days as it moves west-north-Westward.
