LONDON – Barbadian all-rounder Jacob Bethell is among five uncapped England cricketers selected for next month’s white-ball series against Australia.

In an apparent look to the future, Bethell, 20, and Dan Mousley, 23 – both Warwickshire batting all-rounders – have been given their first international call-ups for the three-match T20 series but there is no room for experienced duo, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali.

Bethell, who was part of the England squad who reached the Under-19 World Cup final in 2022, will join fellow Barbadian Jofra Archer in the touring party.

However, another Barbados-born player, seamer Chris Jordan, who was a member of England’s T20 World Cup squad, was left out of both squads. (Reuters/EZS/BBC Sport)
