Senator Dr Shantal Munro-Knight was tonight selected as the candidate for the Barbados Labour Party’s (BLP) Christ Church South constituency.

During the nomination meeting on Saturday evening at St Christopher Primary School, she brushed aside Christopher Alleyne 135-5. There were three spoilt votes.

Munro-Knight, the minister with responsibility for Culture, was gracious in accepting the nomination, recognising the team who canvassed with her.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she said, adding: “I walked and I earned this”.

The position became vacant after former BLP representative Ralph Thorne crossed the floor in February to become Leader of the Opposition with the Democratic Labour Party.  (SAT)
