Two victims of Majestic Bar shooting identified

Police have formally identified two of the three individuals killed in the fatal shooting at Majestic Bar in Nelson Street, in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased have been named as Kawanee Akobi Lashley, 24, of Glebe Land, St. John and Chaubhri Antonio Cordle-Gobin, 24, of Lot 64, 4th Avenue, Green Hill, St. Michael.

    A third victim, who also lost their life in the attack, is yet to be officially identified.

    The tragic shooting occurred around 1:55 a.m. when three masked men entered Majestic Bar and opened fire, discharging several rounds at the patrons inside. Three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, and eight others were injured. Of those injured, six were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) for treatment, while two males were treated at the scene.

    The police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist with their inquiries.

    Police Commissioner Richard Boyce extended condolences to the victims’ families and expressed the service’s commitment to bringing those responsible to justice.
