The Barbados Meteorological Services is closely monitoring a developing area of low pressure currently situated near 17N 39W, approximately 2,180 km (1,354 miles) east-northeast of Barbados.

This system is anticipated to track north of Barbados on Thursday and Friday, posing no direct threat to the island.

While the environmental conditions in the region are favourable for gradual development, the system’s intensity is likely to fluctuate as it progresses across the Atlantic basin.

According to the Meteorological Services, light wind speeds are expected on Wednesday and Thursday as the system nears the island chain. This will result in warm daytime temperatures and may produce isolated localized showers during the afternoons.

The next advisory is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15. (BMS)
