St. Luke’s Brighton Primary will remain closed tomorrow after being closed early today due to a strong odour that affected students and staff.

The Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training made the decision following complaints of symptoms, including burning eyes, itchy throats, itchy skin, and a bitter taste in the mouth.

As a precaution, staff and students were relocated to a nearby car park while Ministry officials assessed the situation. Interviews with those present indicated that the scent was particularly strong during the early morning hours.

To investigate the cause and assess air quality, tests will be conducted tomorrow morning.

The Ministry apologises for the inconvenience caused by this disruption and hopes that any discomfort experienced will be alleviated.

Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
