The Barmy Army will be back in Bridgetown over the next week, with hotels and guest houses likely to be at full capacity as the West Indies prepare to face England on three occasions throughout the white-ball series here in Barbados at Kensington Oval.

The One-Day International (ODI) series got underway at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua yesterday afternoon. Barbados will host the third ODI next Wednesday on November 6 and the first two T20 Internationals, on Saturday and Sunday on November 9 and 10.

With the series occurring at the start of the tourism season, it appears that the hotel sector, especially the smaller establishments, is already filled with life.

Hotels such as Southern Palms stated that they have had a consistent level of occupancy throughout the year and they may not know whether or not the guests are here for the cricket because of the advanced bookings. (SW/EZS)
