The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has upgraded the current flood watch to a flood warning as a tropical wave impacting the island continues to bring heavy rainfall.

Over the past 24 to 36 hours, parts of Barbados have already recorded rainfall accumulations of up to an inch. An additional 2 to 3 inches is expected tonight in pockets of heavy to intense showers, therefore the BMS has issued a Flood Warning

A flood warning signifies that flooding is either currently occurring or is expected imminently, in this case within the next 12 hours. Residents and visitors are advised to stay informed through official updates.

The Flood Warning was issued at 5:50 p.m. today and will be updated on Saturday, 9th November 2024 at 6 a.m. sooner if conditions warrant. (BMS)
