New Year’s celebrations around the world

In certain parts of the world, some have already begun to ring in the new year with fireworks.

Kiribati, an island country in the central pacific ocean, was among the first in the world to usher in 2025, while Hawaii, American Samoa and many of the United States outlying islands will be among the last places. Here are some highlights of the celebrations.
