It will be sweet as sugar for the mighty Weymouth Wales and a bitter pill to swallow for Paradise in the 2025 Barbados Football Association’s season, kicking off on January 19.

That’s because Paradise’s former captain and top marksman Armando “Suga” Lashley has joined forces with Barbados’ most successful football club, Wales, sweetening the chances of adding more silverware to their already overflowing trophy cabinet of the reigning double crown Premier League and Knockout Cup champions.

Lashley, 33, statistically, the leading goalscorer in the BFA’s Premiership over the last 15 years, confirmed the switch in clubs in an interview with MIDWEEK SPORT over the weekend after the BFA’s first transfer window closed on December 15. “I just felt that my time with Paradise had come to an end.

There is no falling out even though when I left, a few officials were bitter but me and the players are cool. Some of the players understand the reason I am leaving,” Lashley said.
