Barbados Football Association (BFA) Premier League champions Ensure Max Protein Weymouth Wales will have the opportunity to exact vengeance on bitter rivals Ellerton Football Club on the opening day of the 2025 season this Sunday.

Ellerton FC stunned Wales fans last November when they eliminated them from the inaugural Prime Minister’s Cup at the quarter-final stage after a brilliantly converted penalty from Ellerton captain Shaquille Belle sent the champions crashing out 1-0.

The match is set to take place at 8:30 p.m. at the BFA Technical Centre in Wildey – the nightcap of a triple-header which will open with Paradise and Silver Sands kicking off the season’s proceedings at 4 p.m.

BFA general secretary Ashley Scott-Williams, speaking at the BFA headquarters in Wildey yesterday morning at the association’s 2025 season opener press briefing, said the season is expected to be an exciting one as it is sure to reignite long-standing rivalries, especially within the parish of Christ Church.
